Wondering about the best places to see Christmas lights?
Check out St. Paul neighborhoods for breathtaking holiday displays that will bring cheer to your heart. If you know where to look in this beautiful city, you’ll find some of the best neighborhoods for Christmas lights anywhere in the United States.
Some of the top neighborhoods in St. Paul for Christmas lights include:
Holiday Lights on York Avenue
One of the most famous Christmas shows in the Twin Cities, the York Avenue display, will be up and running on Nov. 24. Also known as the Schultz Family Lights, this stretch of 10 fully decorated yards is festooned with more than 60,000 lights, familiar Christmas figures and a special surprise – it’s all choreographed to music you can listen to on 91.5 FM – “Rockin’ Rudolph.” The full experience is yours to cherish from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly at 1526 York Ave.
Annual Christmas Lights at Rice Park
Rice Park is known far and wide for the Winter Carnival, one of the family-friendly events that define the calendar for Minnesotans. Every year, starting in mid-November, the park is decked out in dazzling holiday lights. Trees all over the park will be decorated, and nearby businesses and buildings get into the spirit, too. The lights will be out until mid-March, so you have plenty of time to bring the whole family. Don’t forget the park’s famous skating rink!
Hub for the Holiday at Union Depot
Union Depot is going all out for Christmas again this year. The fun starts with the North Pole Express train on Nov. 30 – straight from Santa Claus himself to your family. But the centerpiece of this renowned holiday celebration is the Union Depot Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday, Dec. 1. It’ll feature live music, fireworks, tasty treats and more.
Mears Park in Lowertown
Mears Park features a community Christmas light collaboration brought to you by the volunteer Friends of Mears Park. Mears Park hasn’t had the opportunity to go “all out” with lights for the last few years, and the 2017 season is slated to be its big comeback. Don’t miss it!
Holidazzle in Loring Par
For Christmas adventures outside St. Paul, Minneapolis offers its nationally known Holidazzle. Loring Park is the perfect place for a holiday cheer extravaganza, uniquely set off as the lights glitter and glimmer on the waterfront. You can even catch holiday movies right in the park.
